Real care advice
Two things they need. That most setups miss.
Humidity. Hermit crabs breathe through modified gills. Dry tanks kill them slowly. Sponge in fresh water, sponge in sea water, lid that holds moisture in.
Substrate depth. They molt under the sand. Less than three inches and they can't bury safely. Sand or coconut fiber, kept damp like a sandcastle.
Walk in and we'll show you the rest. We've been doing this longer than the internet has.
While you're here
Pick out a shell to grow into.
Painted shells in a wall of sizes. Bring your crab in for a fitting if you want. We'll take a guess on what comes next.
